With Forgotten Land most likely ending the Soul bosses, it's fun to look back on the Soul that started it all. It's crazy how Marx didn't get a remix, yet somehow the theme still works for his even more crazed undead soul. Guess you can't perfect perfection.

While it's remixes are also masterpieces, the original just has something to it. This just has a feeling of all or nothing, the DS going to its limit to create this music, fitting given the battle at stakes this fight holds. If Dedede is going out, he's going out in a blaze of glory.

You may be wondering, there's no way Flowey received more determination than an entire human soul's worth! How is he able to save and load but Clover can't? I have a good theory on this, if you have any kind of *attention span* these days.... It's highly unlikely Flowey has more determination than Clover, but here's the thing: Flowey was born with the memories and desires of Asriel. Asriel refused to hurt humans, the very things that have led monsterkind to be trapped. When Asriel comes to his senses in True Pacifist, he wants nothing more for monsters to be free and everyone to live happily. Loving and empathy was what Asriel wanted to fulfill. But when he became Flowey, he lost all power to love and care, but he's still got all that determination. The theory here is that determination gets used up on fulfilled the host's desires, and any excess can be used for bending time and space, as long as nobody else can override it. All of Flowey's determination can be used for control over the timeline, and nobody else has that much determination in excess. Clover's desire is to bring Justice as we all know, except his desire can actually be fulfilled, Clover may forget their mission in certain runs, but its in their nature to serve Justice when needed. This doesn't give them enough excess determination to override Flowey's. Bonus theory: So what about Frisk? While the fandom says their soul represents Determination, this isn't actually canon. We only know the other souls because the Snowdin Ball Game confirms it, the closest implication for Frisk is that they possess a bit of every trait. Frisk is a special case, they may have every trait, but they don't follow a single one very closely like how Clover follows Justice. Without a specific desire to fulfill, combined with them having an entire human soul, allows the excess determination to be far more than Flowey's.

Say what you will about _Star Allies_ as a whole, but you can't deny that modern _Kirby_ finales never fail to deliver.

This theme better be remixed in Legends ZA, hopefully with the factory area properly fleshed out as part of the story too. Absolutely criminal that nothing came of it in the og games considering there were hints that there's more to it.

I know this game is old and all but can we talk about how cotton alley not only tests your skill but determination or will power in this case if you any perseverance left to keep going. Honestly this is probably the hardest game I’ve ever played in my life.
